    Hundreds of fireworks sparkle above Lake Towadako.

   As the fireworks bloom in the tense and strained sky, 
   the fantasy snowscape comes out in light.

   Yuki Toro :  Lanterns made of snow
6,000 Yuki Toro 2/10 (Thurs.) - 2/20 (Sun.)

●Time:  about 17:00 - 21:00
   We're going to make 6,000 Yuki Toro on the lakeside road.
   As night falls, the fantastic flames produce the solemn lakeside.

       Nebuta comes in winter again.
Winter Nebuta 2/10 (Thurs.) - 2/20 (Sun.)

   Nebuta Festival is one of the most famous and passionate summer festivals in Japan.  A gigantic float with luminous paper effigy appears at the lakeside.

    Oirase is known for its beautiful mountain stream.
Walking along Oirase Mountain Stream  2/10 (Thurs.)-2/21(Mon.)

●Time :  about 10:00 - 16:00
   You can enjoy taking a stroll from Ishigedo to Ishigedo-no-se.
   The winter sight along the mountain stream looks like a quiet picture in black and white.
   (Note:  Bad weather forecast prohibits you from walking.)

   The tour boat called Romanship is waiting for you.
Romanship Tour in Winter 2/10 (Thurs.) - 2/21 (Mon.)

●Route: Yasumiya - Nakayama peninsula - Nakanoko - Yasumiya
●Required time:  60 minutes
   Special Romanship sails around on the icy lake.  The winter view of Lake Towadako is beyond description as well.  At the sight of floating ices, frozen waves, and etc., you'll find the forces and beauties of nature.

      Otome-no-zo :  the Maiden Sculpture
Illuminated Otome-no-zo  2/10 (Thurs.) - 2/20 (Sun.)

●Time: about 18:00 - 21:00
   Otome-no-zo is the symbol of Lake Towadako.  It was carved by Kotaro Takamura, who is well-known as both a sculptor and a poet.  You can enjoy walking along the road from the Towada Shrine among the tall trees toward Otome-no-zo by the lake.  It is the fantasy road lighted up with thousands of Yuki Toro.

 

       Shamisen :  a banjo-like instrument with three strings
Tsugaru-Jamisen Live Performance 2/10 (Thurs.)-2/20 (Sun.)

●Time: about 19:00 - 19:30
   Shamisen is a Japanese traditional musical instrument.
   The northern music played with a kind of shamisen, which we call Tsugaru-Jamisen, is sometimes sullen and sometimes violent.
The clear, deep sound performed by representative shamisen players in Tsugaru(Aomori) is sure to make your heart beat fast.

 

   Kamakura :  an igloo-like snow house.
   Nabe :  Japanese one-pot dish
Local Cooking at Kamakura 2/10 (Thurs.)-2/20 (Sun.)

   You can enjoy the local chicken Nabe at Kamakura stands.
   The chicken from the Oirase district tastes very delicious.
   The heated foods in the snow warms your body and your heart.
